The most famous Japanese ‘No Brand Quality Goods’ company, MUJI, cooperating with Japanese architects created a spacious design house in Tokyo. The house itself looks like a small and narrow building from the outside, but thanks to to clever solutions applied by MUJI, the design fascinates with its light and airy space.
The Vertical House has a contrast of dark wood from the outside and bright wood with white walls and ceilings inside. The trick that Japanese architects used in this house in order to enlarge the space is to remove all unnecessary partitions, such as walls and doors. And of course large windows that give impression of large space and fill the house will plenty of light.
Japanese designers are the best when it comes to organising a comfortable, spacious, and sensible space. Bright wooden furniture plays pivotal role in Japanese minimal and functional style. MUJI in this project managed to show all what it stands for – simplicity, functionality, minimalism and systematisation.
